It's a big week at Madison Elementary! 4th grade had the opportunity to put their engineering skills to work on the WCS WILL Bus, our volleyball team made it to the FINALS (Monday at 6 p.m. at the WHS Tiger Den), 2nd grade heads to Cherry Creek tomorrow as part of our Lakes and Steams initiative, and we had a helicopter land at Madison as part of "Kindergarten Cruise-in Thursdays" to hear from Mr. Brian Walsh all about how helicopters work! Thank you for the special visit to Madison, Mr. Walsh!

Each day, one grade level has the chance to win the point toward the "Golden Spatula" for best cafeteria behavior (following our shared cafeteria expectations!). During our Friday Cardinal Rally, the grade level with the most points is awarded the "Golden Spatula" (and bragging rights!)
This week, Fourth Grade took home the coveted "Golden Spatula" for following our cafeteria expectations like #champions (pictured here, Mrs. Williams' class). Who will be next?!

Our "Cardinal Kindness Coupons" are a new initiative to celebrate student kindness. When a student earns a "Cardinal Kindness Coupon" for being caught in the act of being kind at Madison, the student places their coupon in a grade-level bucket in the cafeteria. Students' names are drawn each week.
Our "Cardinal Kindness Coupon" winners from last Friday were dismissed from class early to have a donut picnic with Principal Hoffmann on Monday afternoon. Our cardinal kindness winners were: Thiago Valencia, Cohen Armey, Brady Wills, Norah Hendrikse, Brett Ellis, Kinsley Browning, Carter Decker, Zoey Young, Aaron Jones, Emilee Vargas, Jack VanderMolen, Khloe Weaver, Lucas Hardy, Alonzo Gutierrez, Addison Goon, and Cora Giacoma
We are so proud of our #KindCardinals. So far this year, Cardinals have been caught being kind 200+ times!

PSA: WCS is partnering with CCS to distribute their survey. Please participate to help CCS with helpful feedback to inform their four-year strategic plan.

Madison Elementary is collecting money for Feed My Starving Children. Students can bring in coins or cash and put them in the jars in the office. The two grade levels who collect the most money will get a donut party! We are collecting through the month of September.

A friendly reminder that car tags are REQUIRED in order to pick up your child in the parent pick up line after school. You may stop in the office and purchase one for $1. Thank you for helping keep all of our students safe!
